Attribution survives or it does not: keeping the source attached

If the acquisition source is lost between the ad and the closed sale, every conclusion drawn from campaign reporting afterwards is a guess.

Campaign reporting is only as good as the weakest link between the click and the payment. In most setups that link is a manual step: someone re-enters a lead, or exports a list, and the source does not come with it.

The fix is not a better report. It is making sure the source is written once, at capture, and never has to be re-entered - which is also what lets a later touchpoint be recorded as an assist rather than overwriting the original.
